The Casket Girls of New Orleans Perfume Oil

The filles a la cassette (women with suitcases) as they were called. 

These young women arrived in the city of New Orleans in the 18th century, with skin so pale, that their skin reddened and blistered within moments of enduring the hot, subtropical sun, carrying small caskets filled with their belongings. Legend has it that these caskets contained their most prized possessions, as they were preparing to marry wealthy French settlers.

The casket girls were said to be of noble birth, sent to the French colony to find suitable husbands and start a new life in the New World. However, some believe that the caskets held more than just clothes and jewelry - they were rumored to contain the bodies of the young women themselves, who had made a pact with vampires in exchange for wealth and immortality.

Despite the eerie legends surrounding them, the casket girls quickly integrated into New Orleans society, their presence adding to the city's mystique and charm. To this day, their legacy lives on in the French Quarter, where their story is told and retold by locals and visitors alike, adding to the rich tapestry of folklore that makes New Orleans a city like no other.
